Quaint and small cosy place that is authentic Japanese. From the staff to the decor. Food is yummy and delicious- definitely different from other sushi places. Presentation is simple. The husky roll was interesting as it had potatoes, crab, BBQ salmon and avocado wrapped in a rice wrap. Only place I know that serves natto. Service is a bit slow as there are only 3 staff that are serving; this place gets very busy. We will definitely be coming back for the food.

Authentic Japanese food. Staffs were actually Japanese and I could see some original menu compared to generic sushi places you can find in Vancouver. They also had izakaya dishes and seasonal menu that are posted on the wall. Loved the taste, originality, and professional staffs who brought a hand sanitizer to my table before paying the bill.

My favourite restaurant in Vancouver! Honestly wish this place was my little secret because it's just that crazy good. All my friends who I referred this place to truly love the food and always want to come back!! I highly, highly recommend their eskimo roll... it will be the best roll you've ever tasted. The quality is truly thee best you won't regret it.

This sushi place is such a gem! We stayed at the hotel next door and pretty much come here every week, it's that good and the price is very reasonable too. The sashimis are always fresh and good quality. There's a wide selection of other items like chicken skewers, butter seared scallops. They also have special menu that changes every now and then, the aburi sushi combo is our favourite. Highly recommend trying this place out if you're nearby.

Food was great! Portion size was great, quality as well. The price was very reasonable. Fish is fresh. Definitely a hidden gem. Service was good. Our male server had a lot of good recommendations including crispy chicken and Eskimo roll.

I used to live in Japan and just came back from Tokyo yesterday. This place has an amazing atmosphere, good food, and staff. I enjoyed quality of fish and seafood on my chirashi don. Will be back.

The daily specials are amazingly fresh and this place is legitimately Japanese. Sure, Stem, Minami, Tozen, Guu or Sushihil are the top sushi/Japanese places in the lower mainland but l'd argue that Isami's food quality is just as good. The difference is they just don't have a social media presence or honestly care about their reviews. Their presentation is basic but it's a true hidden gem. The interior looks a little dated on the inside but my wife and I love this place. Reminded us of real Japanese restaurants in Japan, homey and delicious. Get their ootoro, wagyu nigiri or uni and tell me it isn't on par with the freshness you'd get from the more expensive places in Vancouver, you'd be lying. This place is awesome, arigato gozaimasu, Isami!!!

Haven’t gone here in a long time but so glad to revisit ! The quality of all the items, especially the fish was amazing as expected. Very friendly staff taking orders and refilling tea. The place is not too big so it is pretty busy and full. Definitely a great spot and would highly recommend checking this place out.
